In the escaped banks of the Tagus, where the Alentejo is with Beira Baixa, one of the latest rails in Portugal is hidden. It is the rail of Barca d'Amieira, the new walkways of Nisa. In addition to the walkways there is a history of Sirga to travel, a dizzying pedestrian bridge suspended to cross, a fabulous transparent viewpoint over the Tagus River (Skywalk), a stupendous Birdwatching module and much more.
The Barca D'Animie rail is a linear route about 3.6 km long and connects Barca D'Amieira, in Amieira do Tejo, to the transparent viewpoint over the Tagus (Skywalk), next to the Fratel Dam. But don't wait to find this extension in continuous walkways.
The stretch of the track that connects Barca d'Amieira in the vicinity of Ribeira de Figueiró, shares the route with the Jans (Pr1 de Nisa) trails, always following the historic wall of Sirga, which once served to assist navigation in the Tagus rebocating the boats by force of arms from the river bank.
Nisa's walkways were only built between the vicinity of Ribeira de Figueiró, on which the hallucinating suspended pedestrian bridge is, and the Skywalk viewpoint. In this way, it became viable to pass through a trail zone that would be necessarily more demanding. Nisa's walkways thus allow access to natural local idyllics through which the route goes to a wider number of people.
